  11. I recently bought a Maxtor 1.6 gig drive for my 1200.  I use an external
  12. XDS case to mount the 3.5" drive.  Before this I had a maxtor 345 meg.

  14. I was successful in hooking up both drives and basically do a mass copy of all
  15. the files, although now there are more partitions.  I went into the config
  16. files/startups and modified all the drive specs.  All programs seem to work
  17. fine now.

  19. The problem is that I have noticied, is that while working downloading files
  20. thru the internet, sometimes I have problems getting a good image of the file.
  21. For example, using AMosaic, I downloaded the same file 3 times.  The first
  22. two files, I could uncompress fine.  The last one had errors when I was
  23. uncompressing it. The file does not have any errors when copying it and all
  24. three files were the same size.  The partition had no errors.  At first I
  25. thought it was something I setup wrong, but double checked everything. I never
  26. had any of these problems with the old drive.

  28. How could I get the same byte count for all three files, but different
  29. contents?  Can something setup wrong with the new drive (max transfer, mask)
  30. cause these types of errors?
